The China, Japan, and Korea University Theatre Festival was held at Chung-Ang University’s (CAU) Art Center under the sponsorship of CAU from October 14-18. It was held for the commemoration of the College of Media Performance & Visual Media. The three theatrical organizations representing three countries attended the festival. CAU students presented ‘A Strange Story of a Library’ that was adapted from two short stories called ‘Library Strange Story’ written by Muracami Haruki, and ‘Once Upon a Time’ written by Choi, In-hun

The Central Academy of Drama students from China played ‘Don Juan’. A play written by French play writer Mollier, which was adapted to a traditional style of Chinese art form that represents a wondering artiste’s individuality.

The Japanese Nihon University students presented ‘Nowhere Land’, which is a story that has been dramatized with extractions from Kafka, Becket and Miyajawa Genji and others works. They mock the modern person who goes about constantly with a map in hand, but acts and thinks of omnipotence.

These students feel a momentum from sharing their skills with each other and accept the difference from others’ through this festival.
