“Ok, thank you very much,” said the last interviewee. As the student walked away, I was hit with the realization that this might be the last interview I give to recruit cub reporters in my term of office. I recalled the time when I was a freshman 2 years ago, and went through this same experience. Only difference is that I am now the interviewer. I remember how nervous I got when the Senior editor asked me several questions. It was only the second interview in my whole life, and the office was very quiet, serious. At that time, I did not know much about the Chung-Ang Herald. When I finished my interview, I thought I had failed. However, I didn’t! Since that day, I have worked in the Chung-Ang Herald. It was very hard to adjust to this new position. At first, I had no time to meet my friends, nor could I enjoy my free time during the week days. However, I was very happy and satisfied when I was in the office. I could have good friends and seniors. In addition, I could occasionally meet a celebrity. The reasons why I could do all of these things was that I am a Heraldian.

This year is the 50th year of the Chung-Ang Herald. The first time I felt just how long the history of the Chung-Ang Herald was, was when I called our Senior, who was the Chung-Ang Herald’s 2nd Editor. When the Senior Editor answered the phone, I felt that her voice sounded much like my grandmother’s. I never saw her before but she spoke very politely and kindly to me. I was impressed. “A long time ago, this person worked for the Chung-Ang Herald in the same position as me. The Chung-Ang Herald exists, because of these great editors, I think.

I am very proud of those great seniors and editors, who came before me. I am also proud of myself, a Chung-Ang Heraldian. Some day, maybe I will also get a phone call from a Chung-Ang Herald junior editor. Then I will answer the phone kindly like my seniors do. I hope the Chung-Ang Herald continues forever.
