The youth of Korea are shinning so bright in the world, especially, this last March. Kim Yun-a, who is known for her figure skating, not only won many junior global prizes, but also made a new meet record. Park Tai-hwan, who is a member of the national swim team, also achieved a surprising win in a big game. What is their common point? That is they accomplished these great records at an early age.
According to a magazine, this phenomenon is described as a ‘youth power formed like developed country’. It means that the youth are lead to representing their country to the world by getting good grades and achieving honors in their fields of interest. However, to get good records, they have to practice under good conditions, and this is impossible without governmental aid. To assist them, the government has to prepare financial budgets. Eventually, Korea will become a developed country, and it should assist youth. The young have made unbelievable efforts. It is called ‘youth power formed like developed country’.
How can these changes happen? As previously stated, the financial circumstances of Korea have changed for the better. Government aid money has been lavished on unpopular investments. Another reason that the abilities of the youth can reach higher is that there is support for our existing generation. They made their country’s success by achieving the dream of financial and national security. Under this condition, the youth could jump into the world stages of competition.
Internal and external experts say, “The rapid advancement of this generation, which marches into a global market, symbolizes the immerging international competitiveness of Korea.”
Some people think an athletes’ prosperity originally starts when they are young. Many ask whether sport athletes can represent Korea. There are many examples for answering this question.
A woman named Baek Ju-young, who became the youngest professor in the College of Music at Seoul University, is well known. She won a prize at the ‘New York Young Artist International Audition’ in 2000. Then she received recognition for her talent. After that, she was given the role of professor, and she became a leader, which gives passion and inspiration to younger artists.
Yi Ru-ma, who is a cross over music artist, new age artist, is already known as a pianist. A lot of people started to be interested in New Age Music, and it has spread out across Korea. He could inform others of his works by arousing young people to feel sympathy.
Classic concerts are held with the intention of adding a new generation of classic artists. These concerts have already been held, but it is not until recently that young artists have begun to get close with their fans.
The International Ballet Competition, Lausanne-Swiss, is one of the most famous ballet events. The object of this event is to challenge young dancers, who have the talent to become professionals. At this big event, a girl, who is an 18 year-old Korean, took first prize. Because of ballet, we can know Korea is becoming more recognized. Thanks to the talent of these young stars. On another ballet stage, a Korean ballerina named Kim Ji-young is the head dancer in the Dutch National Ballet. People are surprised with the rapid growth of Koreans.
The world of modeling also shows the changes Koreans are making internationally little by little. Originally, there was an unwritten law, ‘only one oriental model in a show’. However, a Korean model broke this law. Hye Park was the first Korean model to be promoted as a head model. Many Korean models have start to be called for parts in world famous fashion shows, such as Han Hye-jin, Kim Da-ul, and others. Oriental models are coming into the spotlight more and more. The main fashion markets are New York, Milan, Tokyo, and Paris, and they are not dropping oriental models out of their shows, and they are actively spreading their area of work fairly. Their ages are between late teens and early twenties.
In many of these examples, the youth are taking an active part in their own areas of interest. They have clear objects to achieving their dreams. That is, they have a dream that they want.
Past generations worked hard to solve problems of famine, but the present generation has choices and can work for themselves. The youth are discovering what they are interested in and what they have to do in the future.
When a teenage CEO appears, it becomes an issue around the country. Many teenagers make a brilliant figure in various categories of business. According to an expert, who studies the business market, the rate that teenagers take part in businesses have increased. Moreover they are earning a lot of money, because their product is not only unique and fresh, but they also know their target customers, which are teenagers. Doing what they want to do makes them successful. Last year, a 17 year-old student named Kim Jae-hee had a special prize from her inventor. Her friends call her ‘school girl boss’. It is her nickname. She actually became a representative of a venture company named GL Korea. She raised sales, and contracted with an electronic product company.
The online clothes market is also held by teenagers. They are interested in clothes. Some started to sell clothes, because they liked them. It became bigger and bigger, many teenage customers use their internet shopping mall. One teenager CEO stopped doing her schoolwork, because her business grew rapidly; she had to choose between them. Thanks to the help of parents and the courage of close friends and family, she could continue to operate her shopping mall. These teenage CEOs emphasis the importance of sense, you can glimpse into customers’ tastes, and conduct customer management with common sense. There are a lot of teenage CEOs, who make big sales. If they invest wisely into what they truly want, it can lead into greater achievements though they are young.
Various kinds of seminars and Internet Cafes are opening to help people become CEOs. There are also many books related to becoming a future CEO. In this situation some youth dream of becoming a future CEO, which catches the eyes of other teenagers. With the name ‘Future CEO’, the website opened listing various events like seminars of universities professors. The operator of ‘Daum' cafe, ‘I can CEO’, said that Internet Cafes provide foundations to be a CEO, and help teenagers find what they want to do. He said that not only is their group useful, but also other groups can provide meetings, which are very useful to us; all people try to raise splendid young people.
However, the existing forms of education do not satisfy the desires of the young. When they are truly looking for what they want, they will be able to make their dreams come true without any obstacles. A high school located in Incheon educates students only about jewelry. They start to specialize in their own area of interest early; all people are hired by companies. The percentage of employment for the school is 100 percent. Just like that, the success of the young comes from their interests and hopes. In the future, the success of the young will become larger. To make their dreams come true, however, a lot of effort by all will be needed.
