Seoul International Dance Festival, ‘SIDance’ greets its 10th anniversary. It is the biggest dance festival in Korea, and it has started to overcome a problem. Good dance directors seldom exist although there are many excellent dancers. Thus this festival invites many of the world’s dance directors. There are various performances including the ‘Dancing City’, the ‘Asia-Latin America Dance Exchange’, the ‘Evolution of Hip Hop’, and others. The special events are designed so that participators can learn how to dance from dancers and meet with foreign dance directors.

The comfortable and cozy image of the hotel is adjusted to the gallery. We can see the ‘virtual hotels’ that are filled with the great imagination of designers. A coverlet is full of letters and divided into two parts as a book called ‘bedtime stories’. A phone, which is made of soft cloth so that we can feel each other’s movement, is called (‘Talk to others: Photic to Phobic Pone’). The exhibition has four sections: single room, double room, business room and sweet room. They have individual themes like ‘solve loneliness, pursue happiness with other people, think of busyness, and feel deviated or fantastic life’.

Its motif is the ‘Blue Diamond’ that everyone wanted to possess due to its fatal beauty, but it caused endless and unfortunate incidents. This musical reminds us of it again, when the characters pay the mortal price of rushing toward their life’s diamonds, such as success, love, and others. Its sarcasm about the problem related to capitalism is high, but it also does its best to stimulate emotion. You will be able to meet sad and beautiful blue comedy. Originally, it was planned to run until August 26th, but its been extended.

To mankind, the repetitive ‘beating’ sound is the secret, most primitive sound. The Seoul Drum Festival shares such primitive sounds with all from around the world.
