It goes without saying that president’ role as a leader of country is important. If there wasn’t in existence President Lincoln, liberation black ivory might be delayed. And if there wasn’t President Kim Dae-jung who carried out Norh - South Korea relations cannot develop the Korea of today.

   It applies to a leader of university. There are many groups in our university. To lead a band successfully as a leader of band, some conditions need to be sufficient. Let’s inquire into the conditions which are necessary to be a leader lead a band successfully.

1. Communication with team member  
   President Lee Myung-bak become the target of criticism because he pays no attention to national opinions. People level criticism about Government strategy because they think it’s wrong but President Lee disregards public opinion and stick hold to one´s opinion For example many people disagree with government strategy related to “the Korean Peninsula Grand Canal”. Because that strategy does not consider ecosystem at all. And it isn’t efficient in Korea.

   The purpose of construction of Grand Canal is carriage of goods. But compare with transporting goods by rail, it is not worth to transport goods by ship through the Grand Canal in the cost and time aspect. None the less, President Lee is a law unto himself so he adheres to his opinion leaving out people’s suggestions. The reason for overriding the wishes of the people, President Lee 's approval rating has plunged. It shows communication with teammate is very important. 

   According to above-mentioned leader is essential existence in a band. But without teammate, the band is out of existence any longer. Whatever leader’s strategy has the power of influence, if leader fail to persuade teammate the strategy cannot come true. There is survey targeting office workers that which is essential condition leader need to prepare. Among the many answers, leader’s communication skill comes in first taken 59.5%.

   The chairman of CAU Human Rights&Welfare Committee (In-bok-wi), Song Jun-yeong(Mass Communication, 04) said that communication with team member is important because it helps to diminish mistakes. “In-Bok-wi take charge of welfare business in CAU like convenient facilities for CAU student. There are too many civil appeals we have to deal with. So if only chairman examines the issue, there can be a blind side. But if all of the member examine the problem and find a solution together, the work leaves nothing to be desired and it is solved more effectively. So we hold a meeting once in a week and record details of the conversation to fulfill the subject.”

2. Be trustworthy leader
   Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, Russia former President won public confidence. In 2000, Mr. Putin stood as a candidate for President Election. He promised to bring about economic stabilization to Russia. He did his best to keep that promise, so he was picked up again as Russia President in 2004.

   If leader strives to accomplish the subject he or her promised to solve, team member will trust their leader. There are many way to make team member believe leader. The leader of club that consist of members who prepare for job to the press, Kang yu-kyung(Early Childhood Education, 05), makes a rule that every team member must keep. Each and all, member who break the rule pay a fine. With that money, team members go to watch the baseball game or drink a beer. “To give a trust , as a leader, it is due to take the initiative and set an example. In my case, I use the carrot and the stick to lead my club. In that process, people rely on me.”

3. Have passion and driving force 
   President Park Jeong-hee achieved the huge economy development called “the miracle of river Han” President Park, accomplished economic revival conducting Saemaeul Movement. It was hard try at first time because South Korea economic condition was too bad. At that time, South Korea is poorer than North Korea.  But with President Park’s powerful driving force South Korea made a miracle.

   If leader of group make a radical drastic reform, the group maybe undergo a trial. Most people hesitate to take adventure because of fear, they maybe experience failure. But impossible is nothing. If leader comes to the conclusion that his or her plan is reasonable, make practice new plan daringly. It’s way to achieve outcome. In that process, leadership is necessary. “Nothing venture, nothing gain.” It’s not just existence. It made by experience.

Go Du-hyun(Mass Communication, 06) said about the first image-exhibition held by his club. “Last year, I was leader of my club. I felt the lack of visible event in my club so I made a plan to hold exhibition this year. Actually it was burden to lead exhibition because all the club member took their time and passion. I was afraid if the exhibition can’t compensate for their effort. But I decided to carry out the project because I thought it can give opportunity to make image by ourselves and to become intimate among the club members. Frankly speaking it was not that successful. But I was pleased about that exhibition. Even though it was immature I can preview a new possibility.

   Among the Chinese proverb there is saying “An army of a thousand is easy to find, but, ah, how difficult to find a general.” It means a leader is very important existence in a group. It is within bounds to say that the rise and fall together with prosperity and decay of group depend on leader.
