North Korea fired 3 bullets into the West Sea offshore Yeonpyeong-do on August 10th, one of the 3 bullets falling in vicinity of NLL (Northern limit line). It might have been intended to provoke in terms of not special time to practice military discipline as well as nothing to notice in advance.
After 3 blasts of North Korean army at about 1 p.m., South Korean army took action to fire 2 bullets against the military after sending prior warning. It took about an hour. Our action in this situation was much better than that of last year’s but a problem of being not responsive promptly remained. The reaction did not satisfy the declaration, “First measure, second report”, the Minister of National Defense said.
Two parties have mediated about supplying materials for North Korea due to flood damage. In this situation, North Korea used their military to foster tension. How provocative North Korea acted when in need of communication! South Korea must not remain as spectators anymore!
