Among the several ways of selecting new students of Chung-Ang University, CAU Davinci Leaders is the admission officer system which requires students to prepare some papers of personal histories and interview. For the successful applicants of CAU Davinci Leaders, CAU prepared two major events before they officially matriculate at the university. The first event was held in February 1st, at Research and Development center. It was named “CAU Davinci Leaders Conference.” The conference was divided into three parts – the establishment of admission officer system in CAU, the truth and interpretation of educational program for the admission officer system, and a debate about how the admission officer system should improve in order to stabilize public education. Surprisingly, over 300 participants including high school teachers from all over the country and people related to college entrance came to take part in the conference. The number was higher than expected. The second event was held six days later, which was February 7th, at R&D Center. The event was an orientation that mainly targeted the preliminary freshman who passed CAU Davinci Leaders. The orientation started at 10 o’clock in the morning. The purpose of the orientation was to reinforce the feeling of a sense of belonging by giving them chances to meet and be intimate with upper classmen. The orientation composed several programs including a special lecture of Kim Han-joong, who is a producer of “Knowledge Channel e.” He prepared a video of “Knowledge Channel e” in order to share four interesting yet helpful stories with students who would begin new lives as university students. The orientation also included the introduction of Davinci corps volunteers and TEDx CAU, which is a club that hosts some celebrities to give lectures. After that, a talk concert was held, followed by a chance to meet admission officers and upperclassmen. The picture shows a group activity led by some upper class students. The orientation was also progressed successfully.
