At the 14th of March 2012, the CAU Columbus presentation took place in the grand theater of the CAU Art center. A surprising amount of students gathered – more than 400 according to the handouts that were given in – considering the fact that it was the first presentation hosted by the International exchange team. The presentation began with an opening by the director of the International exchange team, Kim Sang-yong, followed by an introduction of the team, and then the presentation began by the director for business affairs, Shin Jun-ho.
The presentation was rather influential, showing many graphs and revealing facts about how much CAU had been globalized, how much more there was left to go and the fact that we should take more pride in our school. Prizes were given out to students who answered questions correctly so students were very much attentive throughout the presentation. A surprisingly large amount of students dug up the courage to ask questions and the whole presentation became more alive.
After the presentation, there was a short interview with manager of the international exchange team, Oh-ryong.

Q Do you believe the presentation went well?
A Very much, we did not expect as many people to turn up at the presentation, but as it turns out, there were many students that were interested. Also we were glad that many students asked questions at the end of the presentation.
Q I’ve heard that this was the first presentation, are there any more planned for the future?
A Yes we are planning to do a presentation each semester in order to send students to different countries and to make students more aware of the activities CAU is doing globally. Since we will pick the students in July, the next one would be around late May to early June.
Q Is there anything that the international exchange team is wishing from this year’s freshmen?
A We hope that students will try to achieve a high score on the IBT TOEFL tests a little more early. Many students wish to experience studying outside CAU but most have an insufficient IBT score. But by the time they do achieve a high IBT score, in many cases it is already too late to study abroad. So I hope that through the presentations, students will be more aware that they need to achieve a high IBT score as soon as possible in order to study in the university that they are hoping to go to.
