The Student life counseling center has prepared a lecture related to psychology that can help students to lead healthy university lives. It was held on May 10th, 2012 from four to six, in The Research and Development Center. The lecture was given by Lim Jin-soo, who is a psychoanalyst and a Kae-myeong University Department of Europe Studies Professor, as well as The Principal of The Freud Lacan School. He is prominent in his field in that he has written many books related to psychology. In order to have question and answer time with students at the end, he extended the lecture’s length. Looking at the lists of students who came to listen to the lecture, the number of students who majored in psychology was the greatest. Audiences were given handouts that had a detail summary of the contents covered in the lecture. These handouts helped them to understand the lecture better. This lecture provided students with opportunities to ponder their inner sides by following the lecturer’s guide. It also gave answers to those who have wondered about the meaning of dreams and unconsciousness. The lecture covered various topics of dreams, which include dreams of appetite, interpretation of dreams, and nightmares. Lim stated that dreams somehow satisfy people’s desires. For instance, someone who fell asleep when they were thirsty may dream about drinking tons of water or a man who hands him a cup of water. He also explained steps to interpret dreams and how to find out the meanings of dreams. The first step is to write down the dream as soon as a person wakes up. The second is to divide the contents of the dream into several factors and practice free association for each factor. CAH hopes these kinds of information can approach students with amazement and novelty.
