The Hero
This is a musical based on historical facts.
In 1909, the Japanese imperialism expands and takes a toll on the Russian Manchuria field in Korea. Young Koreans part of the ‘Korean Independence Fighters’ are thus exiled to Russia. The Korean government supported the independence movement by making a secret group. An Jung-geun also joined the group, becoming a freedom fighter. One of the group’s members, Seol-hee, was a court lady who witnessed Empress Myeong-seong’s murder. She wanted to seek revenge on the Japanese assassins. Therefore she goes to Japan and helps the independence fighters. During the time, China was also greatly damaged by Japan, so the Chinese, especially Wangwei and Lingling support An Jung-geun. However, continued struggle leaves An Jung-geun and his fellow independence fighters exhausted. One day An Jung-geun hears from Seol-hee that Japanese officers were going to visit China….
