CAU Campus CEO is a newly opening liberal arts course for the second semester of the 2012 academic year. CAU Campus CEO (subject code 47296) is a 2 credit course and can be taken by students from every major and grade level. The faculty consists of professors from Chung-Ang University and entrepreneurs whom have had plentiful field experiences. This course aims at inspiring entrepreneurial spirit, supporting new business starters, hunting students’ talents and enhancing their capability to establish a company. Rather than just a theory on establishing business, the course will include participating in a contest exhibit, writing up a business plan, cooperating with a partner business for the project, and many other programs that will promote executive ability. Students will have practical training through the whole process of running a business; starting from forming a team, selecting an item for new business, analyzing market atmosphere and customers’ needs, planning a strategy to secure technology, marketing and setting up a plan for the brand, verifying project feasibility, then writing up a business plan for attracting investment.

CAH. Students from different majors and grades will take this course. Will there be any hardship evaluating them?

KWAK. Not only will there be individual evaluations, but also there will also be team assessments. 5 students from different grades and majors or colleges such as Natural Science, Business Administration, and Humanities will form one team. Standards for valuation will mostly be the “idea” and realization of it. Therefore, difference in grades and majors will never be a problem.

CAH. What could students gain through this course?

KWAK. First of all, students will produce a targeted item and provide it for the customers. They could learn business process and entrepreneurs’ mind and give considerations for certain parts before getting a job or establishing a business. Moreover, many opportunities and awards will be given to outstanding students. The top 3 teams will win a cash prize and certificate award under the name of the president of Chung-Ang University.
