Seoul campus student council, CAU V, finally opened its webpage for students’ convenience. Prior to opening the webpage, there was difficulty in requesting or verifying announcements; students needed to check their majors’ website or private internet café. Thus, students can access student body business easily by taking advantage of the webpage.

On the student council webpage, students can check and apply for student council business, culture committee business, human-rights-welfare committee business, preparation for graduation committee business. Later, student council will add college bulletin board through connection with college student council. CAU students can check, register and talk about many issues on the webpage.

The student council webpage does not hold “community” section in order to prevent overlapping with Chung-Ang In community’s service.

The problem is that student council webpage does not interlock with school combined-account. No signing up is required when students check the posts. However, students should sign up when putting up a post or leaving a comment. In the process of signing up, students must state their major, student number and name clearly, so the webpage manager can adjust level after verifying the students. Not only enrolled students but also alumnae can sign up.

Interview with Cho Jae-ho, the head of executive committee of student council

CAH. What made the student council open the webpage?

Cho. The student council aims to provide as much convenience as possible to CAU students. The webpage is one of the outcomes. The student council can offer various kinds of information CAU students need through one source, its webpage.

CAH. What kind of service is available in the webpage?

Cho. Students can apply for using plotter, a highly advanced printer. Moreover, the student council will post discount conditions of business area around the school. For example, if students present CAU ID card to stores in partnership with CAU, they can get free drinks or 10% discount. Any information about updated cooperation will be posted.

The student council plans to add a college bulletin board through connection with college student council. We, yet, have not contacted with most of college student councils. The student council plans to post information about scholarship of each major.
