'The Second Dormitory Groundbreaking Ceremony of Seoul Campus' was held at Blue Mir Hall (308) on October 10th, Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. Chairman Park Yong-sung, The University President, Ahn Kook-shin, The Vice President in charge of Natural Science and Engineering, Yoon Kung-hyunng, The Vice President in charge of Business Administration and Economics, Jang Ji-in, and The President of The Alumni Association, Park Jin-seo participated in the ceremony. The ceremony progressed with a simple opening ceremony, construction reporting, a greeting by President Ahn, a tape cutting, and closing ceremony.
The school's second dormitory received an outstanding grade in 'Green Building Certification' of Seoul. It is planned to be constructed with three stories below and ten above the ground. It is planned to be built with 26,397㎡, in 546 rooms, which can accommodate 1,092 students. Also seminar rooms, a cafeteria, a fitness center, and many other amenities will be constructed in the building.
President Ahn Kook-shin said this in the congratulation speech; "By building the second dormitory on Seoul campus, we can accommodate many students, not only students from provinces, but also from other countries as we are living in a globalized world. I hope that it would be constructed according to the plan, so our university would make a new leap forward."
The person concerned in the construction said. "The second dormitory was planned to be built similar to Blue Mir Hall, so we can see the unity. Also, we would offer students a rest area between the two dormitories. The construction will be completed in December, 2014, so we can contribute greatly to students' dwelling problems."
