celebrate one’s graduation and success of finding their jobs when you go around to take a lessons. If you see these plan-cards, you could feel great envy that one is out of the unemployment crisis. Because, it’s not easy to find these plan-cards usually, but very often for each student. Currently, our students now have studied very hard like teacher certification examination, civil service examination and CPA examination lightening the bulb in the library. Related to this, if someone ask students about biggest problems in your campus life, their answer would be ‘unemployment crisis’ mostly and it isn’t limited at Chung-Ang University. ‘unemployment crisis’ is a problem that whole university students are concerning every day in Korea. Why this situation is serious to Korea? Now, let’s look into the situation of “unemployment crisis” and what is required from students related to this.
a. ‘Unemployment Crisis’ that became fatalistic burden.
Unemployment Crisis has become a biggest problem to students that is associated firstly when we occur the words of “university student”. Students can’t be happy completely entering university. We can think the reason of it is in each student. Generally, many students want to work at comfortable office earning much money like dream work places. So, they think they should be perfect in many respects and they will participate in activities that help your spec like learning Toeic or Toefl and certificate that every students are all striving. The error would become these standardized methods. You can understand the phenomenon applied to economic situation. Before 1990, the center of many products people usually used was ‘national enterprise’, but after private enterprise appeared, people had required more differentiated products and become adapted to them following the change of economic center to private enterprise. Here, the students are similar to national enterprise and offices are similar to customers. As people are adapted to the products from private enterprise, each offices are now requiring different abilities following their priorities or features. So, if you want to work certain office sincerely, you should study and grasp the features of that office. Also you should hold qualifications changing your problems or thoughts toward wanna-be office.
b. ‘Unemployment Crisis’ , is it a pain from students oneself?
However, we think differently, unemployment crisis is a kind of painful facts that students have made for a long time. Because, most university students always complain saying “oiffces chose the few people”, “The government doesn’t support about it”. They don’t know each person and always rationalize. In fact, the number of unemployer in Korea isn’t over about 100millions compare to whole number of economic population, 29millions. Do you say that there are many unemployers in Korea only? The real unemployment crisis from students mean that it’s hard to apply their maior to recruitment although there are enough possibility to try anything. Anyone has a standardized goal following their satisfication and they would challenge for only one goal. So, it makes them find a job very hard. The reason of little money or bad circumstances also makes them hard.
c. Many supports from University and government for students
Chung-Ang University has helped students from ‘Development Center of Chung-Ang future people’. It’s an institution that notice information like ‘Consulting programs’, ‘Intern recruit’, and ‘open recruitment’. So students can grasp these easily and they also support effective information like ‘guide of employment’, ‘employment club’ and ‘interview postscript’ from seniors. So students can prepare anything after referencing these information. In addition, ‘exposition for employment’ would be held in each year and students could know specific facts of the offices including Sam-sung, LG, SK and Korean Gas enterprise. Han-Yang university built an ‘Han-Yang’s future development institution. Its goal is to help student’s development of complex career getting out from entrepreneurial activities. It’s main slogan is to support students many educations in leader-ship, employment activities specifically. Our government also makes plans for solving ‘miss matching’ problem that occurs when the balance between demand and supply is difference. Among them, the first solution is “Internship for the young-man”. This business will spend whole or little needed money for students and give each person Intern-ship programs freely and they will make these experience connected to certain enterprise as a regular employment. They will expend support money and extend the working period. They will also intensify the small business through connections from students and students can be consulted from one to one matching soon!
The real problem solver in unemployment crisis is not the other, but yourself. Of course, everybody want pleasant circumstances, proper work time and comfort. However you finally achieve these dream when you intensify your fundamental abilities and become qualificated completely. So from Chung-Ang University students to whole Korea students should experience many challenges and have following responsibilities about it.
