My name is SHUMAN, I’m an exchange student from China. When I set foot on the Korea at first time, I felt kind of scared because Korea meant a total new place to me, everything is so different from my home country and what the point is my parents , friends and my boyfriend who I really care about are in China. I was in blue those days before new life came. And I felt a little lonely sometimes when I heard different languages which I couldn’t understand at all, I felt nobody could care about me when I did everything by myself without companions, I felt depressed when I found a funny story but I couldn’t find a person to share with. Even though I knew how important the independence is, the feelings of alone always came to me like drowning in the sea.

However, when I began to take lessons and know some new friends from different countries, and I was trying to be used to living here, everything was changed and going to be fine. I have become friends with some Koreans and other foreign students and I started to know how friendly and warm-hearted they are. I will never forget when I was confused with some life or study problems here , they came to me with smile like sunshine and helped me to solve them, I will never forget when I wanted to feel the Korean culture but weren’t familiar with that, they came to me guided me to have a culture trip around Seoul, I will never forget when I  wanted to share something interesting with them , they came to me and told me they like listening to me.

Except our Korean and foreign friends, I also met some friendly persons during these days, I will never forget when I didn’t know how to order meal in Korean in Mc Donald, some Korean boy came to me and told me he could help me translate, I will never forget when I had no idea how to use the T money card to enter the subway station and began to feel embarrassed when the alarm rang, a stranger came to me and help me pass it, I will never forget their face, their smile and their kindhearted.

In China, we have one old motto:“滴水之恩当涌泉相报”,which means “dripping, the smallest favor”, nobody has the obligations to help you, and giving is better than getting , so that’s why we should always understand how important “thanks” is and take action to thank for their help. I know there still exist some differences between us when it comes to the culture, and maybe there are some stereotypes and bias about each other as well, however I have something to say: no matter what the past or history is and represents, no matter what the others say and no matter what you have heard about each other, you should get enough details and information so that you can make the relatively correct definitions, what’s better, if you have chance to feel different culture, just seizing it without any doubts, believe me, you will change your old perceptions to some extent. China is a beautiful country, welcome to our home ,and just trying to break the walls of thinking and experience everything by yourself.

As one famous professor in China told the world:“各美其美,美人之美,美美与共,天下大同”,which means“Understand yourself and discover your own form of beauty .Befriend others and appreciate radiance of different people. Once everybody is ignited to find out positiveness from all angles, Wonders of the world can be spotted anywhere anytime, A better world can come true as a result of joint efforts.” I hope one day the dream will be achieved by our cooperation.

When the spring comes, everytime I watch the cherry blossom ,I feel on the top of the world because of the beauty of the nature, why don’t I cherry up and begin to enjoy myself in Chung-Ang University, life is too short to wake up in the morning with regrets.
