Did you know that there is a graduation accreditation system at Chung-Ang University? CAU is implementing it to raise students’ basic learning capabilities in studying. There are two subjects in it, English and Chinese characters and you can check the specific standards for graduation at www.cau.ac.kr. Both English and Chinese characters are often used in Korean, and in particular, Chinese characters are used for many Korean words. Thus, the importance of Chinese characters has always been an issue.

So for students’ convenience in taking qualifications, CAU offers a Chinese character qualification test in school, connecting them to a professional organization from September, 2015. The test targets undergraduates and the test is conducted once a month. You can register it from day 1st to 7thof every month on the home pages of each organization. The place for the test will be given according to the number of registered students. It will be held on Seoul campus, but if there are over 50 people for each organization or grade, it will also be held on Anseong campus.

Chinese characters can be referred to as the base of Korean so learning Chinese characters will be helpful in understanding Korean. Also, by learning Chinese characters, you can learn Chinese easily.
