April 13th, 2016. Do you know what day is this day? Oh, you already know it very well! This day is the Korean Assembly Election Day, as you know. Although Korean democratic history is not so long, many Koreans have preserved the democracy while they struggled against old governments by toiling night and day. So, elections are meaningful and precious for every nation, which is enough to be called the flower of democracy. Furthermore, citizens have to pick the candidate for the National Assembly who supports and cherishes their votes since it is an opportunity to select the delegates who lead the country and make laws for people.

The 20th Korean Assembly Election

When? Wednesday, April 13th, 2016 6:00 AM ~ 6:00 PM

Where? Designated polling stations in each Eup/Myeon/Dong

Who? Korean citizens over the age of 19

What? Picking a member of the National Assembly and voting for a party you support (parallel voting)

How? You should check the history of various members of the National Assembly in detail, and judge who has been helpful to us or who has achievable promise.

Why? Each lawmaker's term will be for about four years (from May 30th, 2016 to May 29th, 2020 with this election). Since it is not a brief span, it is important to vote for the people who can provide the best service and sacrifice themselves for Korea and our region.

Early Voting? The opportunity to vote early is from April 8thto April 9thfrom 6:00 AM ~ 6:00 PM.

Some people said, "My one vote is just useless.” So, they are bothered to vote or don’t pay attention to going to their designated polling station. Do not underestimate your one vote please. Your vote can change this country. Lastly, CAH hopes that our CAU community will participate in the Korean Assembly Election this time.
