Do you know what this is? It is in your wallet and it is possible to replace it at the bank for new ones whenever you want. Yes, right! It's money in the form of coins and bills. It is easy to deal with money thoughtlessly because it is very familiar to us nowadays. Most people like money and consider it valuable. However, they don't care and are indifferent about using and storing it. They think things such as, “Just change it for a new one again.”

           The money damage comes from behaviors, such as doodling on bills or tearing and folding them severely. The main points are that it costs a tremendous amount of money to print them and some people damage money intentionally although great historical Koreans’ features are drawn on the surface, which is considered a disrespectful behavior. Even worse, it cost 56,300,000,000 won to turn damaged currency to new money. Of course, in the case of damaging money without intention, you can ask for new money from a Korean bank. However, it is a malicious act to damage currency for fun. The severity of these problems was in one website article. Someone wrote memos on 10,000 won bills and one religious group distributed one thousand won bills which were stamped in order to propagate their religion. This behavior indicates not only that they do not know the preciousness of money, but also they insult and belittle the symbols of the nation. Since this is not a trivial problem, such people who damage currency deliberately must be punished! Thus, the law was proposed to prevent damaging currency from them. In accordance withtheprovisionofArticle53, people must not crash coins in order to utilize for other uses without the permission of the Bank of Korea. According to criminal law, the case of counterfeiting or falsifying Korean currency, bill and a bank bill which can be used everywhere for purpose to exercise also convicts the sin about currency. Likewise, damaging currency is one of basic acts that we should not do. 

           Even though money was given to you easily, the value of the money won't change. Please protect and preserve it in its original condition. All money must be respected!
