Countless students with university degrees are experiencing a severe unemployment crisis. Students are making great efforts to fulfill credits to graduate with high GPAs (Grade Point Averages). Early graduation is also aimed to allow students to fully concentrate on employment preparation. Last month, the summer session lecture time table and implementation announcement was delivered and many students at CAU expressed great interest. Summer session lectures are courses opened during the holiday season for students wishing to retake or earn credit independent from credit restrictions during the regular semesters. Many students stay academically ardent even during the break session, so what shall we learn more about the upcoming summer session lectures?

From June 23rd to July 14th, for 16 days except weekends, summer session lectures are going to be held. The biggest merit of summer session lectures is you can take courses without heavy restrictions on course selection due to overlapping time tables or limited credits regulations. Courses for liberal arts majors and other diverse lectures approved by the dean of the faculty of arts will be opened. Every member of CAU can participate, except for students on a leave of absence for joining the army and medical department students third year and above. Every credit requires 16 hours of lecture and a total of six credits can be registered. Except on the weekends, from Monday to Friday, courses are organized from period one to period nine. Lectures are held 50 minutes per period. Unlike lectures taken during the semester period, summer session lectures do not accept any officially approved absences and grades do not count for any school advantages such as campus scholarships, changes in major or double majors. It only counts for the graduating GPA and for credits. Hence before registering, students will need to have enthusiastic attitudes toward attending school on a daily basis during the summer vacation.

To sign up for a summer session lecture, like semester course registration, students need to register during the required date. From May 22nd to May 25th, registration for courses has started and from May 30th till 31st is the first course correction day to be held. Only a day is given for correction, so give serious thought to making changes. After registration, it is necessary to pay the tuition fee on time and be aware of the refund policies beforehand. If registration has been made, dropping a course reduces the next season session’s lecture credits that are permitted to be enrolled in for the next vacation session. Lecture feedback and assessment are required for result inquiries.

Summer vacation is already approaching. Many people could have planned an awesome trip, an extracurricular activity, some voluntary service, or would like to just relax at home. However, if you need to retake a lecture, want to get over with attending a course that is time-consuming, or simply want to take a course you wish to take, why not register for the upcoming summer session lectures? CAH always supports Chung-Ang University students striving to achieve academic success, even during the summer holidays. The fruit of hard work will never betray you.
