“Writing an essay” means organizing the thoughts lingering about in our heads by writing down a combination of letters onto a certain platform, whether it be virtual or physical. It seems quite simple to just think up a lot of things, but to express them through complete sentences, that is the tough part. Writing skillfully requires not only a basic understanding of how grammar works but also the ability to think logically, creatively, and so on.

In this sense, CAH has continuously held The CAU English Essay contest every year for our university students with the English Essay last November 10th marking its 40th. There may be many students who are quite confident in English, however, I know, as a student myself, that all these students need is a slight nudge from the back, a little bit of courage, to try out for the Essay contest since it is not only a means to determine their English abilities. As I mentioned right before, the contents and the way in which they are expressed are the most important factors in writing an essay. Therefore, I would like to give a big hand to all those who participated in this year’s contest.

At last, I, myself, as the Editor-In-Chief of CAH, feel the crisis of “writing” since the social trend, nowadays, is that of an “image” rather than “text”. Thus, CAH will continuously aim to take great strides to improve upon our annual English Essay in response to the rising interest in essay writing and creative thinking. With this, I conclude this month and this year’s final Editorial. Thank You.
