Some might had been surprised to see various sculptures on the way from the back gate to the 310 Building between August 14th to 29th. These installations were showcased by the International 3D Symposium hosted by the Daekyo Culture Foundation. Daekyo International 3D Symposium is one of the sponsoring projects of the Daekyo Culture Foundation to find new artists in the field of space art, starting from 2000. And this year, an exhibition of the symposium was held at Chung-Ang University. A total of 12 artists’ works, including 10 domestic and 2 overseas artists, were on display. It was an even more meaningful exhibition to Chung-Ang this year, because students majoring in sculpture at Chung-Ang University’s College of Arts participated in this year’s event as assistants to the artists. Introducing two of these sculptures, first there was <P.B Ferrari> made by Bang In-gyun (Korea). His art expressed the speed of the car by applying “simple viewing” and “Changing shape” to the vehicle. Another work, called <Transition>, was made by Cheuk Wai Margaret Chu (Hong Kong). This piece was made of wood board and was designed to send a message that life in the city is constantly changing by various establishment and demolition. Besides these two works, all 12 pieces delivered meaningful contents according to the master’s individuality.
