The number of people infected with "Wuhan pneumonia" is increasing steadily. Especially in China, since vaccines and treatments haven’t yet been found, many people are being driven to fear and anxiety. It started in Wuhan, a city China's Hubei province, but since its first discovery, infected people have been identified throughout China, Thailand, Japan, the United States, France, and many other countries around the world. No country is safe from Wuhan pneumonia anymore. Let's find out what the Coronavirus Disease that has terrorized the world is, and what we can do to prevent it.

What is a coronavirus? - Basic common sense of the coronavirus
The cause of Wuhan pneumonia is a 'new' coronavirus. In fact, the coronavirus is one of the causes of colds and is already common among people, so there are many cases where people already have antibodies. However, the problem becomes serious when the strain of coronavirus comes from animals and is passed on to people. It is because, like the new coronavirus, a new virus that has no antibodies in human beings is born. Under these circumstances, the pandemic of the virus can easily spread to the public and become a more severe illness. Wuhan pneumonia resulted from genetic variations in the Coronavirus, which matched 89.1 percent with the bat Coronavirus. Dr. Michael Skinner, a researcher at Imperial College in the U.K., said he had discovered as a clear source of the new coronavirus from Chinese bats. Therefore, experts assume that the coronavirus, which used to be common among bats, has mutated and become infectious. What is certain is Wuhan pneumonia, currently has no specific medicine or vaccine. In the case of this, secondary and tertiary infections among humans as well as animals such as SARS and MERS, have been reported, which requires further attention.

The Posture of Countries Against the Coronavirus
There are two major symptoms of Wuhan pneumonia that occurred in Wuhan, China's Hubei Province. Patients showed common symptoms of high fever and respiratory symptoms (a cough, difficulty breathing). The Wuhan pneumonia first spread from the source of the outbreak with confirmed cases in Beijing, Guangdong, and Shanghai. Wuhan pneumonia then quickly began to spread across borders around the world. It has come to face an international emergency situation. In response, countries are quickly looking for ways to cope with this severe pneumonia. On February 2nd, South Korea and Japan announced that no foreigners who visit the Chinese province of Hubei will be allowed entry. Several countries, including the United States, have recently announced that they will also refuse entry to all foreigners who have stayed in China in the past 14 days. About 26 countries are locking their doors to China to protect their citizens. All countries are nervous about this new pneumonia. The world is now paying keen attention to China to respond quickly to the coronavirus and minimize its own damage.

China's Response to the Coronavirus – Harsh Attention
How is China, attracting world attention, coping with the coronavirus? According to Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, as of March 1st, the number of deaths from new coronavirus infections are at 2,968 and confirmed cases of the disease are 86,707. There is a story that the onset of the coronavirus spread through unauthorized butchered wild animals trading in the Wuhan Whanan Market. Why hasn't China stopped selling and eating wild animals even after experiencing the threat of SARS? It is known that there are many customers who visit wild animal markets with blind faith that they have increased potency and special value from their domestic brethren. Beijing-based newspaper Xinjingbao pointed to the problem that the "wild animal underground market," which exists illegally in blind spots of the regulator’s management, are thriving. The absence of quarantine inspections on the slaughter of wild animals was the first reason for the Chinese government's international criticism of its handling of the new coronavirus.
Wuhan residents are expressing their concerns and anxiety through social networks as the Chinese government has not admitted to the large number of suspected patients and have not provided information such as ‘Where to Get Care’. As such, China is covering up on the exact size of the patients and contagiousness. Because of this, distrust that the China government is hiding the truth is growing. There is international criticism that the Chinese authorities did not immediately acknowledge the severity of the new disease, thus making the job more complicated. Also, China is currently being criticized for its unimproved medical environment facilities. According to the South China Morning Post (SCMP), there are overflowing patients in Wuhan, China's Hubei province, where Wuhan pneumonia has spread. However, the medical system is paralyzed and patients are not receiving proper treatment. A doctor in Wuhan said in an interview with the SCMP that "There are not enough staff at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. We cannot check up all the patients."

The world is now in a state of extreme emergency due to the advent of this new virus. At times like this, it is important for individuals to be aware of thorough precautions. Currently, Wuhan pneumonia does not have a proper vaccine, but is generally known to be spread through saliva. Therefore, an important rule to prevent this is similar to a common cold. You should follow these rules, such as wearing a mask, washing your hands often, and coughing into your elbow (not hands) or a handkerchief. It is also important to bolster your immune system by drinking enough water and getting enough sleep. Do not forget that we need everyone's attention as the world still does not have the medicine or a vaccine. Just as humans have fought against the virus so far, CAH hopes to overcome the coronavirus and calm the situation down as soon as possible.
