Before starting the 62nd Chung-Ang University Seoul campus student council in December 2019, controversy on plagiarism arose over the student council’s official name, "WIN:D." This is because the logo was apparently very similar to that of singer Kim Jae-hwan's fan club. The student council posted an apology. However, it was criticized for its lack of sincerity due to the lack of an apology to Kim Jae-hwan himself. It was also criticized for the council’s irresponsible response such as "no comment" on the issue and initial poor wording of the apology. In its second apology on December 5th, the student council announced that it would completely replace the student council name and logo, along with an explanation and apology for the situation. On January 3rd, the student council of the Seoul campus revealed a new identity called ‘Syn-.’ It means a prefix for combination and harmony. In the New Year’s greeting in 2020, the 62nd student council Syn- expressed its desire to work "together" toward the new future of Chung-Ang University like its new name. Hopefully, the Syn- of the Seoul Campus, which had been plagued by problems before and after its election, will be able to gain a heart of the students of CAU in 2020.
