The vice president of the student council announced his resignation through the student council Facebook page on March 27th. The announcement said Cho Je-yeon, vice president of the student council, will resign for personal reasons. Many students remain doubtful and disappointed about his resignation. Even though Cho should have at least given the reason for his resignation as the vice president of the student council, the student council left only a vague line. There was no mention of how to deal with the setbacks that would arise in the student council's work. Even worse, Cho was absent from the 9th Central Steering Committee held on March 16th before the announcement of his resignation was made. This means that no specific reason for his resignation had been officially announced, and that nothing has been revealed about what decision-making process student council went through and who participated in the discussion. In an article posted on CAUin, one student argued that the resignation is tantamount to a complete disregard for the will of the voters. It’s because the student representative who was elected through the largest student autonomy vote last year suddenly resigned without taking any responsibility. Despite the public opinions, the student council has yet to make an official statement.
