Mr. Kim, a 3rd year student, has been in an English institute for one year. He learned not only English conversation but also TOEIC. He spent almost 500,000 won a month to learn English. He said, “I was obliged to go to the English Institute. My friends also attended the English Institute. I just went to the Institute to catch up on the employment competition.”

This situation often happens these days. ‘Job Korea’, an online recruiting enterprise, announced that the payment for extracurricular studies for university students is almost 1,600,000 won per year. University students try to learn skills, so that they are ready for employment. For example, the TOEIC and Chinese Character certificates for job qualifications should be prepared prior to employment. In addition, to be hired in the finance sectors, university students must be highly qualified. Therefore, these university students spend even more money to gain all the required certificates. On average, students spend almost 500,000 won per month.

However, the route to getting a job is not too far. If you search your university recruiting system, you can find a way to learn about employment opportunities. Chung-Ang University gives many services to students including job information and interview skills. Now, see what is available for you.
