The words ‘pro bono’ mean ‘for the public good’. This word is generally used for free services, which offer professional knowledge. In legal circles, this word means free legal service for people who can’t afford a professional lawyer. In Korea, some large law firms are leading ‘pro bono’ legal services. However, compared to foreign countries law firm services, Korea law firms leave much to be desired. Rather than formal financial support, Korean law firms need to offer free legal services actively.
