The basketball team of Chung-Ang University (CAU) won the championship (44th National University Basketball Tournament), after shaking off Kyung Hee University (KHU). This final game was held at Gunsan Woulmyeong Gym on November 9. CAU swept the field in 5 games.
In the final, both CAU and KHU played a seesaw game, proving that both teams are the favorite for the championship. Especially, Yoon Ho Yeong (CAU/F) led a good game by scoring 22 points. Until latter in the match, both teams showed airtight fielding and maintained a tight game. However, the game was decided in the last minute. In that time, CAU got a lead by 65-63. Kim Sun Hyeong (CAU/G) and Park Sung Jin (CAU/G) snapped the ball from a player for KHU in a decisive moment. These steals were connected to points and drove a wedge into the game.
With this game, CAU got four titles in the Amateur tournament this year. Surprisingly, CAU has been marching with 30 consecutive victories since November last year. At that time, CAU was defeated by Yeon-sei University by 68-70 because of a goal made in the last two seconds by Kim Tae-sool (now SK) in the same tournament. However, CAU has never lost all its games in a tournment after that. That is the absolute king among University teams.
