On November 1st 2011, congressman Ko Seung-deok gave CAU students free a lecture about how to lead a successful life. This lecture was held the by CAU honorary ambassador called Chung-Ang Sa Rang. Many students gathered in an auditorium in the R&D building at six o’clock to listen to his speech. They were excited about his lecture since he is renowned for his impressive career. He graduated from Seoul National University Law School and passed the Bar Exam, Civil Service Examination, and the Foreign Service Examination during his years in the university.

Then, he completed a master’s degree in Law at both Yale University and Harvard University. He also finished a doctoral course at Columbia University. In addition, He worked as a lawyer, as well as a judge, in Korea. Despite this brilliant academic background, he obtained a reputation through appearing in a famous TV show about law called “Choice of Solomon.” Later in 2008, he was elected as one of the members of a legislative body which belongs to the Grand National Party-Hannara. At CAU, he became one of the mentors to the university students and gave speech based on his experience. His speech was delivered by means of PowerPoint presentations. To summarize his lecture, people’s ways of living are divided into four grades– A, B, C, and D. D stands for “Drop.” These people who are rated as “D” unwillingly do their work. They almost never accomplish their goals. People who are rated as “C,” which stands for “Common,” do their work regularly but only the work that other people ask them to do. Next, B stands for “Better.” These people try hard to know what they should do and put effort to do better job in their work. Finally, A stands for “Ace” and Ko stated that all students ought to become like the ones rated as A. These people complete their work without any complaints and try to do additional work for the sake of self-development. His overall lecture was about how to live like one rated as A. His lecture lasted for about two hours. CAH noticed that all the students were well concentrated throughout the lecture and found it very helpful.
