Recently there was a tragic accident where a pedestrian. A Korea University student was hit by the school shuttle bus and was killed on campus. The incident happened due to defects of road system on the campus such as a barely existing sidewalk and the haste of the pedestrian and the bus driver. Chung-Ang University also has a shuttle bus service for students' convenience and it runs periodically. Students and staff of CAU should be aware that this incident is not irrelevant to us. In Seoul campus' case, the campus is basically located on quite a steep slope and not spacious enough to accommodate people. Because of this, the sidewalk for pedestrian is not sufficient enough. In spite of these several difficulties, most students seem insensitive to safety. Many students tend to walk on the campus carelessly; listening to music with earphones, not keeping their eyes forward, even walking on driveways. Shouldn't we have a mind that our safety depends on ourselves more than anything else and make an effort for our safety?
