'Romance Seminar', hosted by The Ministry of Health and Welfare, was held on October 8th from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Louis Hall, 3rd floor of the Student Union Building. Kwak Jeong-eun, a columnist for 'Cosmopolitan', which is a fashion magazine for woman, lectured on the topic of 'Love Story for Twenties'. She graduated in English Literature at So-kang University and works as a journalist. She refers to herself as 'a journalist who wrote the most articles about romance and sex'.
Kwak started her seminar from Inha University, and continued at Hongik, Sungkyunkwan, Korea University, and lastly, Chung-ang University. She talked about 6 minor topics about dating. The first topic was why some people are not popular to the opposite gender. She told that smiling is a real important factor, and she also told the importance of watching our body figure. The second topic was the reason people fail at blind dates. She pointed out the conversation as a problem and taught how to have a nice conversation. Thirdly, Kwak showed the way to become friendly with new girl/boyfriends. She emphasized the importance of physical contact. The fourth topic was 'how you should behave when you don't like the way your love is going.' She suggested traveling as a solution. The fifth topic was quite suggestive, which was, 'How to enjoy sex with your lover.' Lastly, Kwak explained contraception.
A male student majoring in the Department of Electron and Electricity commented. 'I think I behaved well just as Kwak told, but I could not tell why I don't have a girlfriend at the age of 22. I actually expected the ways to become popular among girls, but it was still an interesting lecture.' A female student majoring in the Department of Psychology said, "I came here to get some useful information to make a boyfriend. I will make sure to have a smiling face at the next blind date. It was quite embarrassing when Kwak spoke lightly about the sexual topic."
