On October 5th, 2012, The “2012 Arte – Cultura Colloquium” took place in the Law building auditorium of Chung-Ang University. Arte and cultura mean art and culture in Latin. Colloquium means a study meeting such as a discussion or seminar in Latin. The colloquium began with the presentation about transfusion in visual imagery and its value by Professor Kim Young-ho. After the brief break, there was presentation about digital composition and diversification of visual arts by Professor Jang Uk-sang and then a discussion and argument about diversity in visual arts, transfusion of visual imagery and digital composition led by Professor Park Chul-hwa after. The Vice President of The Engineering Department, Yun Kyung-hyun attended to invigorate the fusion study of culture, art, and engineering. The Director of Cultural Art Study, Kim Won-kyung, wished The Art College to keep arranging meetings with other fields of study according to the colloquium and for it to be the role model of fusion studying in Chung-Ang University.

In the colloquium, the definition of visual imagery, how visual images are represented in artwork and the artistic values of artwork were explained. Thanks to the new technology such as image processing or match moving, the expression of mass media in the fields of performance, production design, advertisement, and etc., became various. Technology is not a magic wand that makes everything possible, but a tool that enables the diversification of art. People should be concerned with technology as a method of artistic presentation.
