School, and ‘university’ you are in. What is the school for you? Many people say the university is an only arena of competition contrary to elementary, middle and high school. However, we are student and take classes with friends from teacher as ever. The outside is same! Nevertheless, the inside is different. A lot of university students are concerned about any problems made in univ. Then, they reminisces elementary, middle and high school, like ‘Ah-. That time is so good.’ But that time is not always great. Why we are hard pressed to attend the university?
<School 2013> was broadcasted at KBS2TV for the last three months. School dramas have took center stage any about nearly any period, for example, <School 2013>, <Dream High>, <The god of study>, because they had some messages the viewers sympathized. If so, we may be able to find the solution about the problems from university.
<School 1, 2, 3, 4, 2013>is the first Korean drama handling school’s real story. <School 1> consisted of shocking materials such as school violence and physical punishment in 1999. It was broadcasted in a serial form after the message of <school 1> had recognized worthily since <school 2>. <School 3> showed the hard-headed side of school, <School 4> described the students’ sentiment at the arts high school and <School 2013>, which means <School 5>, revealed the school’s problem in these days.
<School 2013> exposed school violence, bullying, fall of teachers’ authority, competition, indifference, teacher evaluation system, culture of teenager, conflict between friends and excessive intervention of school parent, etc. Because of these elements, <School 2013> was evaluated to be worthy of attention by all generation. It made viewers to have attention about school’s problems through dramatic elements. In addition, it did not enumerate affairs simply but get to think what is our ultimate aim by solving affairs, for example, abandonment of essay test after knowing illegality, absence between friends by missing of smart phone, prejudice among many students.
It did not exist only the hard-working students but also disorderly students called by ‘Il-zzang’, student with intellectual disabilities, student wanting to study even now and to enter the vocational school, dreamless students, and so on. In this drama, students were afraid of leave the school even if he is a disorderly student. Through this side, students showed they need existence of ‘school’ and ‘teachers’. Students, although they are different completely but should pass through a stormy period of adolescence, were in confrontation with each other over some incidents but communicated and comforted each other at once. The process becoming friends gains the viewer’s sympathy.
In this drama, the process resolving the affairs and comforting each other proposes necessity of communication, reconciliation and consolation. In addition, <School 2013> says it is the same that hurting and being wounded through attacker and victim. And then it describes the thing students want to get and how to live ‘in school’.
Even though <School 2013> was finished, the left assignment about education and life may remain painful for viewers. The problems, students and teachers have, must be ‘heavy burden’ equally. Therefore various efforts should be followed to solve this heavy burden like drama. It may be so difficult that teaching study, friendship to separate students and how to live with students wanting to learn poem to students wanting to learn only study. However, we look forward a small seed of hope made by sincere attention to be passed to ‘real school’ in 2013. The solution may be attention and communication from school.
Q. Friends and I become estranged from disagreement. How I solve it?
A. I have lost my precious friend because of my fault. The solution is honesty and rushing, I think. If you ignore this problem because of criticism and dread, situations never change. When you confess and consider friends frankly, the problem must solve. I recommend teacher’s advice, too. They experience lots of knowledge of life and should encourage you.
Q. I choose my major according to score, so I did not really fit in.
A. I recommend that your aptitude and study you do now match. For example, your aptitude follows your major, or your major follows your aptitude. People feel happy and begin to work effectively when he or she enjoy it. I experienced. Likewise, open your talent and never mind about slander!
Q. I always do study! The most important thing is score. Isn’t it?
A. Yes, score is important. However, doing only study is not good. A lot of things are only able to be challenged when you are university student. You may lose a golden opportunity. Show your talent and dream in the world! It must benefit you. Doing only study do not always make all successes. If you want to do extra-curricular activities, refer these sites!
Q. I am older than my classmate because I had to study one more year to enter CAU. So I always feel nervousness and pressure.
A. I was older than my classmate when I attended high school because I flunked out for a year at high school. However it is not serious problem. In my all life, one or two years do not have big effect, I think. When I work calmly like other friends, my looks change positively!
Q. I do not have any social existence.
A. Social existence is formed by effort. Approach friends with a laugh, make up yourself and announce your opinion during a class at first. If so, your existence will be made.
<School 2013> says school story we want to tell but cannot tell and to listen but cannot listen. School dramas have a key part at communication in the middle. There are lots of school dramas, and they always tell ‘communication’ and ‘attention’. School is small society. Especially, university is realer society than any other school. Though school’s all problems do not always resolve easily like drama. However, just like the message sent by <School 2013>, if you have a small attention around you and observe it, the problems should be solved gradually.< 저작권자 © 중앙헤럴드 무단전재 및 재배포금지 >
