‘You can see only as much as you know’ is a saying that has been used frequently. In relation to this quote, on the 24th of March the Subject Information Service Team of Chung-Ang University held a lecture to inform students about methods of making better use of the school’s library sources and the education and research information service. The lecturer was Hyeon Myung-seop from Chung-Ang University’s Subject Information Service Team.

The lecture informed the students about the ways of researching for a master’s thesis, various Data Bases available and methods of searching for reference works. As students are not that familiar with accessing information the lecturer took time to explain how Seoul campus’s Chung-Ang University students could get a hold of the information resources that were only available at the An-seong Campus. Moreover, students were informed of ways to access various data bases including SCOPUS, PubMed, RISS and RefWorks through their school account.

Overall, the lecture was very interactive as the participants got the chance to ask questions directly to the lecturer. Maneuvering the education and research information service for papers is a skill highly useful for students. This lecture seemed to guide the participants through a process which may help them gain access to a lot more sources of information for their education.
