Nowadays, many problems in women’s restrooms have become an issue, especially in the university, such as attacks by strangers, being locked in a stall, or someone secretly taking photos. In order to protect students from these emergency situations, the school decided to install an emergency bell system in women’s restrooms.
Including the toilets for the disabled at Seoul campus, the emergency bells are installed in each room and even on the surface of the walls. However, not all the restrooms have the emergency bells, so stickers are attached on the doors informing whether the bells have been installed or not. If you push the bell in emergency situations, the siren might alarm loudly, with “Help Me” sounds and red lights. Right then, the security officer might come rapidly to you and then the workers of the company who made those bells will get ready to move.
However, when you push the bell for fun, many people might get confused and it may make things difficult to rescue people who are in real emergency situations. Moreover, if you hear the sound near the women’s restrooms, please go for help if you possible. Even though the emergency bell has been installed in Seoul campus, the school has inferred that the bells will also be installed in the restrooms of Anseong Campus.
