The Global Pioneer Scholarship (GPS), which was paid to participants in the regular overseas program, was changed to the Global Dream Scholarship (GDS). In the case of GPS, to resolve the exchange country imbalance, the scholarship was paid to students subdivided into Latin American, Asian, and African countries. Students, who will receive the scholarship, were selected according to their group and income level. However, the effect of resolving the imbalance was inadequate, so the Chung-Ang University Office of Internal Affairs changed the scholarship. The GDS, a new scholarship system, will award a scholarship based on the income quintile, and only applicants for the state scholarship of KOREA STUDENT AID FOUNDATION can apply. GDS will provide 2 million won ($ 1,756) for those in the 0~3rd quintile and 1.5 million won ($ 1,317) for those in the 4~5th quintile. GDS will be applied to first-time dispatch students in the fall semester of 2021. To receive a scholarship, students must write an application form for the scholarship and a pledge of scholarship recipients. Then students should submit it along with an admission of the study abroad university and a certificate of purchase of an airline ticket. Besides, students must complete at least one course per semester that would provide transferable credits. After arriving at the other school, students must write a Confirmation of Arrival within 15 days of the other school's semester. Students need to submit it to outbound@cau.ac.kr., Office of Internal Affairs, Chung-Ang University. Also, scholarships cannot be provided if you only participate in online programs of the other university while staying in Korea.
