In order to spread the Green Remodeling project, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport selected 6 leading regional hub platform organizations along with the Korea Land & Housing Corporation and the Korea Authority of Land & Infrastructure Safety. Then what is Green Remodeling? It is a project to support project costs for old public buildings such as daycare centers, medical facilities, and health centers used by vulnerable groups such as the elderly and children. A consortium was formed with universities across the country, with Chung-Ang University (CAU) being selected as the leading organization for the Seoul platform Green Remodeling. The selected organization serves as a regional hub for the spread of Green Remodeling. It supports technologies such as energy performance analysis before and after construction at a project site. It also operates and discovers programs to strengthen regional capabilities. Organizations selected for this project receive a total of 10 billion won over three years starting this year. CAU receives 1.5 billion won. Even students are given the opportunity to participate in the design and construction process at the project site, so they can cultivate practical skills. Building energy performance can be significantly improved through the project. In addition, energy and greenhouse gases, and fine dust can be reduced, which helps create a pleasant living environment for everyone.
