The Korean Council for University Education announced the ‘2020 Industry Perspective University Evaluation Result.’ Among 53 universities with departments related to architecture(construction) and machinery(automobile), a total of 81 departments from those universities were targeted. The industry perspective university evaluation has been in effect since 2008. It is an investigation to see if the universities operate excellent curriculum that reflects the needs of the industry. One of its purposes is to expand communication between the industry and universities. Also, through the improvement of university curriculum, one of its goals is to resolve manpower mismatches and build a foundation for fostering industrial demand customized human resources that our future society will require. A total of 12 universities were selected as the best universities in the architecture field and 13 universities from the machinery field. Among them, Chung-Ang University was selected in both fields. In the architecture field, the Department of Building Science & Engineering was selected while in the machinery field, the Department of Mechanical Engineering was selected. University evaluation experts, executives, and staff members from 20 companies participated in the evaluation, including from the Hyundai Development Company, the Samsung C&T Corporation, the Lotte Engineering & Construction Company, and the Daewoo Engineering & Construction Company.
