Due to the continued non-face-to-face semester, many students are now accessing and relying much more on various Chung-Ang University-related websites. An application was launched in March this year that would be of great help to these students. It is the "e-Advisor" launched by an artificial intelligence support team within the Da Vinci Institute of Learning Innovation. Combining the vast amount of academic data accumulated by the university with AI technology, e-Advisor is a customized education support system designed to support students' overall school life with things like academic planning, course application, class work, and job preparation. Through e-Advisor, students will be able to easily receive the information they need and have a systematic and active university life. Let's take a look at what kind of services e-Advisor offers.

Planning: Establish a Systematic Studying Plan

The planning service of e-Advisor helps students establish systematic and active academic planning. Information about major courses, liberal arts courses, multiple majors, minor requirements, etc. There are so many kinds of curriculum, and each course has different credits for graduation. Students should consider These credits every semester when registering for classes. But it would not have been easy for many students to check their learning status because there are so many types of curriculum. However, students can now easily check the progress of their studies through e-Advisor. e-Advisor's planning service shows credits for graduation for each curriculum and how many credits each student has taken up to this point. In addition, courses with grades under C+ are marked as 'subject for course repetition' and users can choose which semester they will retake the course. Students can also check whether they have passed or are exempt from certain graduation requirements, such as English or the Chinese character test, as well as their GPA. Through this service, you can check your class status and make a plan that supplements what you need by graduation.

Learning Support: For More Convenient Learning

Learning Support is probably the most practical service for students among e-Advisor's services. As for why non-face-to-face semesters are more difficult than face-to-face ones, many students will say, "There are too many things to check every day." In face-to-face semester, students can easily check many things, such as assignments, quizzes, attendance, through asking professors or friends in the class. Whereas, in non-face-to-face classes, it has become a hassle for students to check on their own every day. Now, e-Advisor relieves our burden. When entering the Learning Support Service's 'Learning Progress Status,', it shows the status of e-class attendance, assignments, quizzes, surveys, etc. separated by subject. Because this can be also set up for notifications, you can prevent mishaps like late assignments or attendance. You can also check lecture notes or textbooks by subjects. The following service is related to the timetable. In e-Advisor, AI helps to set a customized timetable through the 'AI timetable simulation' function. First, select all subjects you are considering taking in a semester, and choose your preferred times among morning/afternoon/morning+afternoon. After, if you set the day of the week you want to create as a day-off through ‘Excluding Day,’, AI will show a timetable tailored to your choice. However, this function can only be simulated for major subjects.  Checking and sharing friends’ timetables was currently only available in the anonymous community for university students ‘Everytime,’ but it is now also available in e-Advisor.

Portfolio: Make Best Portfolio Recommended by AI

For students who have a lot of concerns about getting a job, e-Advisor helps them create the best portfolio for each student. First, you can identify your strengths and weaknesses in various activities. The activities are divided into five categories: grades, non-subject activities, language, da Vinci competency, and learning activities. AI then scores each item on a five-point scale and provides the scores for each student. You can also compare your score with similar and superior groups. A similar group is a group of people who have high similarities in your academic and learning activities, while a superior group is those who have achieved the highest score among the similar group members. Specifically, for language exams, detailed score-to-distribution of similar and superior groups can be identified for each of the three main qualification tests, TOEIC, OPIc, and TOEIC SPEAKING. In addition to academic activities, you can decorate your portfolio by directly entering comparison programs, multi-major status, overseas training/experience, certificates, and award experience registered in the Rainbow system.

e-Notice: No More Inconvenient with the Easy Notification System

In addition to the Chung-Ang University official main website, there are a wide variety of websites, including CAU portals, e-classes, the Rainbow system, and the website of each college. As a result, it was very inconvenient to check each notice posted on each site, and there must have been many students who did not get necessary information on time. Therefore, there have been many calls among students for an integrated notification system for a long time, and e-Advisor has finally realized it. If you click on the ‘Major Announcement’ of the e-Notice service, you can see the notification briefly for each of the various sites in CAU. In addition, living information and recruitment information were added. There is much information in ‘Living Information.’ For example, there is ‘Residential Information,’ in which you can see a list of rentable rooms near school like real estate applications, ‘Flea Market’ where secondhand textbooks are traded, ‘Part-time Jobs’ where part-time job announcements are posted, and ‘Famous Restaurants.’ In addition, if you click ‘Recruitment Information,’ you can see various job postings by filtering searches according to the desired work area, type of work, and career. More attractive is that notifications can be set up for all of these announcements and information. Notifications will only be sent from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., and announcements and information generated after 9 p.m. will all be sent at 8 a.m. the following morning.

In particular, some functions are very convenient for students, such as helping them solve difficulties that they may face in the non-face-to-face semester. In addition to the previous introduction, e-Advisor's four services have more functions, and they are waiting for you. If you have not heard of e-Advisor yet, go to the Google Play Store or App Store now and search for ‘CAU e-Advisor' to install it. Maybe it can be a strong supporter of your university life!
