What is the Graduate School of AI support project? It is a project that plays a key role in the Ministry of Science and ICT’s plan of fostering 100,000 talented people in the field of AI and software. Chung-Ang University (CAU) was selected for this project. The government will provide up to 19 billion won over the next 10 years to support the development of AI specialized curriculum and the establishment of infrastructure. With the support funding, CAU will be able to conduct high level AI major intensive courses and foster professional AI talented people. CAU aims to foster AI talented people who contribute to human society. Curriculum specialized in three core AI fields and six AI+X (AI Convergence Program) fields will be opened and conducted. The former fields are reliable AI, automated AI, and universal AI, and the latter fields are medical treatment, security, vehicle, robot, language, and content. The entrance quota for the CAU Graduate School of AI was 40, but it will increase to 50 starting next year. It means that the scale of training AI talented people will expand. Paik Joon-ki, the President of the CAU Graduate School of AI, said that it is of great significance that CAU has been recognized for the research ability and curriculum in the field of AI. He added that the project goal is not only just to develop the Graduate School of AI, but also AI education for all CAU students.
