The first lecture is by Professor Michael North, from the University of Greifswald, Germany. Professor Michael North is a specialist in monetary and financial history and the history of commerce and culture. He has also edited many books, such as "Northwestern Europe in the World Economy, 1750-1950 (Stuttgart, 1993)." Professor Michael North will lecture “Global Border Studies in Comparative Perspective” in the GBS. Starting from the first lecture this fall semester, the GBS at the GSIS has a plan to host invitational lectures for international scholars every semester. They plan lectures by Vladimir Tikhonov (University of Oslo), Christopher Green (Leiden University), Alexander Bukh (Victoria University of Wellington), and more. Invited scholars will give lectures for students and the general public and conduct joint research and projects. Chung-Ang University students can earn up to three credits of graduate school so even undergraduates can take this class in GBS.
