This semester, the subject information service team of the Academic Information Team will be holding the Pre-Classic Reading Academy. The Pre-Classic Reading Academy is a warm-up event for the Classic Reading Academy which will be held next year. Dr. Kang Yoo-won, a classical scholar will do the lecture. After graduating from Dongguk University's Graduate School of Philosophy, Kang Yoo-won appeared on KBS1 radio "The World of Books" and EBS <CLASS e> ^[1] "The Classic of Reading in the Era of Crisis". Also, he wrote books such as "Humanities High School Lecture," "Philosophy Classic Lecture," and "History Lecture." The Pre-Classic Reading Academy consists of 10 lectures by Dr. Kang Yoo-won. The theme is largely divided into two chapters: Chapter 1: Purpose and Method of Classical Reading, which will run from September 15th to October 27th, and Chapter 2: Actuality of Classical Reading, runing from November 3rd to December 1st . Lectures will be held every Wednesday from 16:00 to 18:00, with 290 students who take lectures online (real-time) and 10 students taking offline classes were recruited on a first-come, first-served basis from undergraduate and graduate students. As it is the first classical reading academy conducted by Chung-Ang University there are also abundant benefits. First of all, after completing the lecture series, academy members will submit assignments. Based on this, 500,000 won will be awarded to the three best submissions, 300,000 won to for five excellence awards, and 200,000 won for 10 participation awards. In addition, the books for the lectures are provided free of charge for 150 students by order of arrival, and a Starbucks 10,000 won gift card is also provided to students who weren’t able to receive the book. Preferential benefits will also be given for Classic Reading Academy, which will be operated in 2022.
