Chung-Ang University’s Chatbot CHARLI is a search program(engine) created by the AI ​​support team of the Da Vinci Institute of Learning Innovation. A ‘chatbot’ is a search program that composes frequently asked questions by users in a form of conversation. You can conveniently access CHARLI from both the mobile application and the PC website. CHARLI can link the users to many of CAU online websites such as the Rainbow System, library website, and e-class. As it is an artificial intelligence search program based on big data, CHARLI constantly collects students' questions and opinions. It also organizes and displays a list of answers based on the time-based statistics.

 

2. How to Use Chatbot CHARLI

a. Finding the Chatbot CHARLI

 Chatbot CHARLI is located on the home screen of CAU mobile application, CAU portal, e-Advisor, Rainbow System, CAU In, and KakaoTalk channels. However, users have to remember that each website has a different location of CHARLI. First, there is a round icon with a picture of robot CHARLI in the mobile app, CAU portal, CAU In, and Rainbow System. You can operate CHARLI right after you click this button. However, in the case of e-Advisor, you can click “Ask CHARLI” under the huge calendar on the right side of the page after you log in to start CHARLI. You can use the chatbot CHARLI with a ranking of frequently asked questions by students.

You can also check your personal information after logging in. Scholarship and graduation-related information can also be accurately affirmed according to the individual's course status. It is an innovative change from the existing complicated verification method. You can easily find information related to lecture evaluation and timetable, library use, and quarantine related information. For example, if you click ‘Quarantine’ in CHARLI’s menu, you can find out the exact location, operating hours, things to prepare and number of quarantine stations in campus in advance. In addition, users can create their own chatbot. If you set up to five frequently used menus as a ‘greeting message’, you can immediately check them as soon as you operate CHARLI and start a conversation.
