Chung-Ang University (CAU) Center for Teaching and Learning hosted a special lecture on the topic of ”Understanding and applying learning strategies using Metacognition.” This lecture was open to all CAU students. Students were able to register for this program by applying on the CAU Rainbow System website. This lecture used the concept of Metacognition, a concept that has recently received the most attention in academic society. This lecture helped students to analyze their learning habits and to establish strategies for applying metacognition in a successful college life. The lecture series consisted of a total of two lectures, and it was held on November 11th and 12th, for a total of 4 hours. These lectures were conducted as an online special through ZOOM. According to officials of CAU Center for Teaching and Learning, the participants were encouraged to take part in both sessions since they were highly connected. They also delivered the idea that this would help students to understand the recent studies about metacognition with ease. CAU Center for Teaching and Learning also announced that they will hold a mentoring program through January. The purpose of this mentoring program is to improve students’ competency by providing Korean language mentoring to international students. This will also lead to a cooperative learning culture at CAU. This program will take applications from December 1st to 24th. The matching process will be held, and there will be a total of 15 teams. Each team will conduct at least 5 meetings during the program and will submit a paper after the program is over. Teams who have shown good teamwork will receive souvenirs and mileage[1] in the Rainbow System.
