Chung-Ang University (CAU) Center for Teaching and Learning hosted a special lecture on the topic of “Taking a Closer Look at Film Music,” over the winter break. All CAU Students were able to register for this program by applying on CAU’s Rainbow System website. Students who enrolled in this lecture could access this course from January 7^th to February 18^th. This lecture was conducted by So Soo-jeong, the renowned film music director. This lecture series consisted of 6 different topics related to film music. It covered the outline and characteristics among different genres of film music, and renowned professionals among the film music industry. Through this lecture, students were able to understand the basics of film music and how it is written or chosen to be inserted in a movie. Students could easily complete the course by attending 70% of the whole lecture series. One of the students of CAU who registered for this course mentioned that “As a big fan of Disney films, I was able to really connect with the whole lecture series. This lecture helped me to understand how film music helps the audience to understand movies with diversification” after completing the course.
