The Chinese character qualification, which was suspended from graduation requirements due to COVID-19 in 2020 and 2021, will be re-applied from the spring semester of 2022. To graduate from Chung-Ang University (CAU), students must acquire Chinese character qualifications and English test scores in addition to their graduation credit requirements. The Colleges of Arts and Sport Sciences need level 4 or higher and other colleges need level 3 or higher to graduate. For the Chinese character proficiency test, students need to take a test organized by institutions that conduct Chinese character proficiency tests such as the Korea Institute of Live-Long Education Evaluation, the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), YBM, etc. Among them, CAU has conducted the Chinese character proficiency test of the KCCI on campus. The on-campus Chinese character proficiency test, which was suspended in 2020 and 2021 due to COVID-19, resumed in April. On-campus tests and free lectures are scheduled to take place in April, May, and June. Free Chinese character classes are held online on the 3rd Monday of every month, and Chinese character on-campus tests are held in Centennial Hall (Building 310) on the 4th Saturday of every month. Students can apply for the examination by clicking the "Reception of Chinese character proficiency test at CAU" banner on the website of the KCCI from the 1st to the 7th of every month.
