The consortium formed by five universities[1] led by CAU will play an important role in the carbon-Neutral ESG field with 9.44 billion won in government subsidies over the next four years. The project is a manpower training project organized by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the National Research Foundation of Korea. This project aims to help a research team consisting of undergraduate, graduate, and professors understand problems occurring in the industry and develop creative skills to solve practical problems to carry out research tasks. Toapply for this project, a consortium with other universities needed to be formed, so CAU formed a "Carbon-Neutral ESG Future Leading Research Group" with four other schools. Professor Park Se-hyun of the Department of Intelligent Energy and Industry at CAU took over the overall project as the general manager. The research team plans to establish a sharing and convergence education platform in the field of carbon-neutral ESG based on intelligent energy technology with the aim of early realization of the national 2030 carbon-neutral goal. The team announced that metaverse, which has recently emerged, will be used to construct a metaverse-based carbon-Neutral ESG sharing campus town. CAU President Park Sang-gue said, “CAU has paid a lot of attention to the carbon neutrality issue since 2020. The selection of this project means that our university has grown into a global university that leads carbon neutrality.”
