Do you want to see fairytale-like paintings? The exhibition <Accidentally Wes Anderson> presents 300 landscape photos collected from Europe, Asia, North America, and other countries. The exhibition first began in Brooklyn, USA, in 2017 when Wally and Amanda Koval made an Instagram account(@accidentallywesanderson). The couple traveled around the world and took pictures of places likely to appear in Wes Anderson's movies and uploaded them on Instagram. Wes Anderson is a film director who directed films such as The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014) and French Dispatch (2021) and is famous for his fairytale-like movies. The couple's community was very popular with many people, including Wes Anderson's fans, who helped revitalize the community by taking pictures of Wes Anderson's film-style locations. People from all over the world following the couple's community participated as artists. Although the photos are different, what their photos have in common is that they are "Wes Anderson Style," which has a soft pastel-tone color, a perfectly central symmetrical structure, and a classically retro style. The exhibition <Accidently Wes Anderson> consists of preparing for a trip, getting on a train, getting off the platform, and checking in at a hotel, the first place of the trip. Therefore, you can feel as if you are traveling yourself. Let's dive into the <Accidentally Wes Anderson> exhibition with CAH.

Mind the Gap

Traveling begins with taking vehicles such as planes, trains, and automobiles to leave for other places. In this section, the main focus is on photos of exotic vehicles, as well as pictures of the scenery through the window of a train. Photos of various trams, buses, trains, and airplanes from many countries are on display. Some of the photos focus on the background, while others focus on the means of transportation itself. It is fun to see different-looking vehicles in various places, from cars in front of fancy buildings, buses in front of farms and rocks, and airplanes in the snow. Although the photos were taken with a similar composition, the scenery contained in the frame varies from snow-covered mountains to green mountains, sea, and forests. You will feel like you're on a train trip while looking at the pictures. In this section, attractiveness of vehicles is outstanding. This is because vehicles are essential for us to get out of our daily lives and go far away. You can feel the importance of vehicles in travel in this section.

The Terminal

You must pass through the terminal while traveling. For some, it can be a space where you feel excited before you leave and when you arrive at your destination, or for others, it can be a space where you wait to transfer. In this section, the story of the station connecting the destinations is covered in detail. You can find out the history of the space that we can just pass by, such as the station with a painful history, the station that influenced the art movement, and the station which was destroyed and rebuilt by war. <Dakar Railway Station> is a photo of a Senegalese station. The station has a painful history of being incorporated into Senegal's colonial period and the French West African Federation. The yellow exterior is as beautiful as an amusement park, but ironically, the station has a painful history. <Karlsruhe Hauptbahnhof> is a film of the most recently built train station in the German city of Karlsruhe. The train station was destroyed during World War II air raids with reconstruction beginning in 1950 and being completed in 1977. The red train in the picture catches our eye. <Karlsplatz Stadtbahn Station> is a work that commemorates the artists who led the artistic innovation movement in Vienna, Austria, in the 20th century. Gothic style and gold decoration make the station look luxurious.

Check in, Please

Have you ever watched Wes Anderson's movie The Grand Budapest Hotel? "The beginning of the end of the beginning has begun." This is a line from the movie. The hotel was interpreted as the first place to start a trip, not just a one-night stay. This section is one of the highlights of the exhibition, decorated like a hotel front desk. Burgundy curtains are very antique and make you feel like you're actually at the front desk of the hotel. There are also sculptures that fit outside the front of a hotel inspired by The Grand Budapest Hotel, so you can take great pictures here. In this section, you can enjoy photos of hotels around the world. The colors of various hotels, green, pink, and yellow, delight viewers' eyes, and accurately balanced photos relax their eyes. The building style varies slightly from country to country, but it is interesting that the overall mood is similar to The Grand Budapest Hotel in Wes Anderson's movie poster. <Hotel Belvédere> is the main poster of the exhibition and is a Swiss hotel set in a wide mountains range surrounded by blue skies. The refreshing natural scenery and the hotel harmonize very well. The guests of this hotel can be relaxed while looking at the wonderful scenery. The work of <Hunting Lodge Hohenloe> is also impressive. Against the backdrop of a snowy mountain, the villa in the snow field gives a quiet and peaceful feeling.

<Accidently Wes Anderson> is a spectacular exhibition because people from all over the world participated in the exhibition as artists. Although about 300 people participated in the exhibition, it is interesting that the photos are unified because the majority of those who submit them are fans of Wes Anderson, following his theme. Also, the photo zone in the exhibition makes it more interesting. Don't you want to see fantastic works at the exhibition <Accidentally Wes Anderson>? The exciting exhibition <Accidentally Wes Anderson> is waiting for you.
