The BrainKorea21(BK21) Intelligent Wearable Robot Education Research Center led by the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Chung-Ang University (CAU) held the “Intelligent Wearable Robot International Workshop” on July 12th and 13th. This workshop was held in Room 305 of the Centennial Hall of CAU Seoul Campus and was jointly organized by CAU BK21 Intelligent Wearable Robot Education Research Center and the Human Robot Convergence Research Center. The Intelligent Wearable Robot Education Research Center of CAU has a goal of “cultivating convergence-type talents with software knowledge and expertise in robot hardware design based on the understanding of humans” by leading the 4th industrial revolution. Eight professors from the Department of Mechanical Engineering have gathered to prepare courses and projects about variety of subjects such as non-specialty education programs. The government and the Ministry of Education selected the Intelligent Wearable Robot Education Research Center for the BK21FOUR industry on September 1st 2020 who will receive support until August 2027. The international workshop held on July 12th and 13th started with a congratulatory speech by Professor Chang Seung Hwan of CAU, followed by lectures of experts from various institutions. In this workshop, Professor Chang mentioned that the 21st century is the age of robots and explained the relationships between robots and humans with various types and functions. He also talked about the importance of training professionals who can keep up with the future of robotic technologies. Through this workshop, CAU Intelligent Wearable Robot Education Research Center has moved closer to the research for nurturing practical talents in the robot industry.
