The Korean Ministry of Education presented the bachelor class operation rules for the fall semester of 2022, according to “Measures for Normalization of Academic Operations.” First of all, unlike the previous semester in which classes with more than 40 students were conducted through online lectures, in the fall semester, all except for 243 pre-approved courses are conducted face-to-face. Next, the examination method for the fall semester is also different from the spring semester. In the spring semester, whether classes exams were conducted face-to-face or not was at the discretion of the professor, but in the fall semester, all classes except for non-face-to-face classes will use face-to-face exams. Also, in the fall semester, grading is both of the relative evaluation A and the relative evaluation B. In the spring semester, grading was done only using relative evaluation B, but as face-to-face classes are the norm again, the credit system returned to pre-COVID-19. Relative evaluation B is applied to only the four specific course types: English-only classes, Curriculum for Teaching Profession, military science, and some experiment, practice, and practical subjects. Relative evaluation A is applied to all other classes. In principle, the credit ratio of relative evaluation A is 35% or lower for A or higher, 70% or lower for B and higher, and 5% or more for D+ and lower. However, in the case of classes with fewer than 40 students, the principle of giving 5% D+ is not applied. The principle for the graduation system remains unchanged from the first semester, and all of the English, Chinese character, and Korean history proficiency standards required by Chung-Ang University are applied.
