Throughout our lives we see various aliens in movies. Humans have always been curious about unknown creatures that could exist in the universe. In modern times, people began to draw more sophisticated and imaginative extraterrestrials. The appearance of various aliens can always be a fun topic of conversation. Let's take a look at the various aliens shown in movies, and how they were created with CAH.

The world's first sci-fi film is A Trip to the Moon (Le Voyage dans la Lune), released in 1902. What did the first aliens on screen look like? In the movie, scientists send people to the moon by firing huge cannons after long research. In the movie, humans who arrive on the Moon meet aliens called 'selenites'. These aliens have insect-like flat heads and feet. When this movie was released, science was not as advanced as it is today, so many people actually thought that aliens were living on the Moon or Mars, which are close to Earth. People back then mainly imagined that aliens would look completely different from humans and that they would be more uncivilized, so they made the appearance of aliens look like insects or plants, which are weaker than humans. Ever since this movie, insect-type aliens have been steadily appearing in movies like Independence Day(1996).

Life, a sci-fi thriller film released in 2017, tells the story of a living creature found on Mars. At first, people in the movies are excited about the existence of life outside Earth, but soon the extraterrestrial creature grows at an insanely fast rate and starts to eat everything up. The main characters try to fight to prevent this creature from arriving at Earth. The alien in this movie has no legs, eyes, mouths, or noses like ordinary animals. Rather, this alien has a transparent appearance like an amoeba or a mollusk, and because it does not have separated cells, any tissue in its body can be an eye or a muscle, which makes the look of the alien bizarre.

The sci-fi movie Arrival, released in 2016, begins with 12 spaceships appearing on Earth. Twelve oval spacecraft allow humans to enter through a small passageway into the spacecraft for a certain amount of time every day. Humans who enter this passage encounter octopus-like aliens, and they attempt to communicate with the aliens. The film's protagonist, Louise, is a linguist and tries to interpret signals from aliens while trying to teach them human language. This film emphasizes the theory that difference in languages are followed by difference in ways of thinking while showing the protagonists' attempts to communicate with the black octopus-like aliens. Aliens in Arrival, which communicate by shooting black ink like octopuses and making circle-like shapes, have a much higher intelligence than humans and are shown as beings capable of higher-order thinking.

Will You Be My Friend? Aliens That Kind of Looks Like Humans

Steven Spielberg portrayed extraterrestrials with greater intelligence and various abilities than humans, characterized by larger heads and thinner limbs than humans. Unlike the previous Encounter with the Unknown, where aliens were portrayed as a negative presence that invades humans, in the film Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Spielberg tells the story of aliens who are not hostile to humans and humans who are only curious about aliens, with no fear or hostility. The aliens in this movie communicate with humans through music, which can be attributed to Spielberg's childhood, who was raised by a computer scientist father and a musician mother, and so often imagined communicating with aliens through music as a young boy. Also, even though the aliens appearing at the end of the movie are hairless and look a little odd, their shape is similar to that of a human child. In fact, it is said that young children actors dressed up as aliens in the movie.

The movie E.T, released in 1984, is still the first film that comes to many people’s mind when they think of an alien movie. The alien in the movie E.T, which changed people's perception of aliens, becomes friends with the main character, a young human boy. An alien who came to Earth on a spaceship to investigate the planet accidently falls out of its spaceship and is left alone on Earth. While trying to hide from the humans who are chasing it, it meets a boy named Elliot. Elliot names the alien ET and takes care of it. In the movie, the cute alien ET is not only nonhostile, but is also portrayed as a friend who should be protected from humans with bad intentions, and this alien was loved by the mass audience. With its large head and small body, ET has magical abilities and shows simple communication and interaction with human children.

Aliens will be a fun and interesting topic to imagine for a long time to come. One day, a real UFO might land on Earth, and an alien which looks like nothing humans ever predicted could walk out and introduce itself to us. It may communicate through songs, with ink coming out from its mouth, or in a way we have never imagined. Until that day really comes true, humans will continue to fantasize about extraterrestrial creatures that are different from us but also has "life" as we do.
